Additions to my kitchen

After coming home from town, I spent some time taking down recipes from the Asian Food Channel. I am so happy to start cooking with a different goal this time. I an trying to go as healthy as I can, without dieting and depriving myself.

I don't know about others, but I love to have beautiful things around me as I work. I pampered myself with these chopping boards I got from Robinson's yestrerday.

And I also added a few new bottles of spices onto my spice rack. Now I am all set, once the guys get back, it's cooking for the family again.

Breakfast @ Wendy's

Yesterday morning, I met up with my sis and nephew. I needed to pick up somethings in town. With the little one accompanying us, we had to move around his schedule. So it was breakfast time first upon reaching Orchard.
So my little nephew is throwing his weigh around, grumpy and waiting on his breakfast.

So here, he is placed into the high chair, but still making a lot of noise.

Here's the Panini that I had for breakfast, it was rather nice. But the hashbrown, was just not worth eating for the extra calories, when the taste was not good enough.

From there, we walked down to Somerset, as I wanted to shop at Robinson's. Even before I got to buy my stuff, my sis was about to crack up from her son's tantrums. She needed a quick fix, and a cup of coffee was it was her. I helped her out with the high chair, and offered to make her order. As I stood at the counter ordering her McChicken meal, I had to restrain myself, from ordering the Double Cheeseburger, which I would upsize for the curly fries. I controlled myself as I delivered her order to her, and pulled my legs to the other counter as I slowly ordered a mango smoothie and an Apple Carrot Muffin. I know it sound like it was no big deal. But I opted for the smoothie rather than my usual Himalayan Tea Latte. And the crowning glory was that for the very first time ever, I said NO to the topped whipped cream. To me, that was huge.
My proud moment!

Lunch at Empire State

It was a while since my family and I went down to Causeway Point. My hubby Pete suggested that we went down to see what had been added to the mall after the renovations. I was walking around with my family looking for a place for lunch. I saw this new place that looked nice, called Empire State.

We sat down and placed our orders, interestingly the waiter tells us that sandwiches were not served on weekends. We wanted to go else where, but Ivan was rather insistent that he had waffles. Since he was cranky we stayed on.

I love having soup, but I wasn't very happy with this soup however. It was a mushroom soup, but I found it rather blend and watery. The garlic bread however, was soft and blend too.

Pete wanted to order wings, so we did. I did find the wings alright though.

I wanted to watch what I eat so i opted for salad and liked my salad, it was nice.

As usual my son Immanuel, opted for a salmon dish too.

Ivan got the kids meal, as he was going to have the waffle. (secretly I was hoping that the mini burger would be just as awesome as the ones at Swensen's)

This was the reason why we decided to stay and it was pretty nice. I liked the chocolate that they poured over the waffle. The waffle was crisp and just right. We had it fast, the chocolate had no chance make the waffle soggy.

We spend the rest of the time there shopping, and came home pretty exhausted.
